With over fifteen years of experience, Gemima Philippe-Parker is an accomplished communications professional specializing in health communication, business development, and social media management. She currently manages internal and strategic communications at the Johns Hopkins School of Education, leveraging her expertise in program management and behavior change. Gemima also has a strong background in science communication and promoting health initiatives for federal, private, and volunteer organizations.

Senior UX Website Advisor and Developer
Kindra Thomas is an award-winning UX writer with 10+ years of experience crafting clear, engaging experiences that drive user adoption and brand loyalty across diverse industries.

Social Media and Graphic Design Intern
Justin is a passionate and driven sophomore majoring in Geology with minors in Science Communication and Science, Technology, and Society. As Universal SciCom’s Social Media and Graphic Design Intern, he brings creativity, purpose, and a deep commitment to using storytelling and visual design to make science more accessible. Justin is dedicated to using his communication and leadership skills to support Universal SciCom’s mission of advancing inclusive, impactful science communication.

Digital Engagement Intern
Josephine is a graduate student in NC State’s Technical Communications M.S. program, with an Environmental Sciences B.S and a minor and focal area in Science Communication. Josephine is passionate about science communication, specifically environmental communication, and hopes to build a career in public engagement and education. She uses her skills in writing, information architecture, document design and knowledge of environmental issues and policy to further Universal SciCom’s mission to empower STEM professionals to be better communicators!
